This is a book that will hold your attention from the very first page. I loved the main character Alice. What a life she lived. The story had a twist in it that I just loved. Alice grows up her Mother dies at a early age left to live with a alcoholic father. Alice ends up pregnant and something happens to the baby that involves her father. She searches out help from a neighbor and runs away. Then there is a dead body who is it? Little town with a lot of corruption. This book is like two books in one with the story line. Braxton did a wonderful job looking forward to his next book.
