From a Distance by Diana Lesire Brandmeyer

He wants independence. She longs for safety. Will they find a way to be together for good?

Beginning a new life, Shanna Becket, secures employment as a Children’s Society Agency Agent. Her first assignment makes a stop her hometown bringing her dangerously close to meeting her abusive stepfather. What she didn’t count on is the distraction of a handsome stranger who sends her heart fluttering.

A second son who is second-best, Aidan Sollar hopes that his latest venture is his ticket to independence from his overbearing father. His travels bring him and Shanna together. He finds a longing for her love that won’t release him.

When a sick orphan brings them together, Shanna is forced to place her well-being in Aidan’s hands. But when he treats her with the kindness of love she begins to hope at the possibility of love.

My Review
I love Diana's books they are wonderful good clean reads. They  are wonderful romance stories with great well written characters. Shanna has had a very ruff life  from abuse from a stepfather.  finally able to run away catches a train to get out of there.  Not knowing what she can do to support herself she runs in to a lady who cares for orphans. She feels for these kids because she is pretty much one herself. She fears for them and being united to new people to have a family. She doesn't see that they will be treated with love. She falls fard with her feelings towards a little girl. But what can she do she has nothing herself? She meets a man on the train who is very kind to her but she is leery of him. BUt a sick orphan brings them working close together over the child being sick. But her thoughts are no man would want her. Her stepfather always told her no man would have her. Can god work between these two and help them both with things in their lives? Wonderful book you won't want to miss.
