Wishes at Willow Lake by Mary Manners

Mason Donovan has a secret: he's spent years overcoming dyslexia. Through school, he was viewed as the proverbial kid with all brawn and no brain. He wanted nothing more than to be included with the other guys in his high school class--and to have a date with Josie Parker. His longing leads to a reckless escapade at Willow Lake and the death of an innocent child.

Josie Parker loves reading so much that she decides to open a bookstore/café. Among the pages, she finds relief from a childhood marred by the remorse that she never quite measured up to her mother's expectations. Business is booming, so when she needs an expansion to the facilities, she calls the best builder in the South, Mason Donovan. She doesn't expect him to return to Willow Lake so quickly--or to look so good.

Is it possible for a bookworm and a builder to find love, and healing, among the romance shelves?

Mary Manners is a country girl at heart who has spent a lifetime sharing her joy of writing. She has two sons and a daughter, as well as three beautiful grandchildren. She currently lives along the sunny shores of Jacksonville Beach with her husband Tim.

A former teacher as well an intermediate school principal, Mary spent three decades teaching math and English to students from kindergarten through middle grades. While growing up in Chicago and as a student at the University of Illinois, Mary worked her way through a variety of jobs including paper girl, figure skating instructor, pizza chef, and nanny. Many of these experiences led to adventures that may be found between the pages of her stories. Mary loves long sunrise runs—she’s completed three marathons—ocean sunsets and flavored coffee.

My Review

Wishes at Willow Lake is book 3 in the Willow Lake series.  This series just keps getting better. Meeting another  couple in the series Mason Donovon  and Josie Parker. Mason left town after graduation to pursue his career. Leaving behind a girl he loves and a death of a friend. His business is growing by leaps and bound. But things are getting one edge he needs a break. Maybe he should go back home for awhile. Then the phone rings. Who is it?
Josie Parker  the smart one in the class but she felt guys didn't like her cause she was the nerd with her nose in books all the time. Josie made books her career she opened her own book store and cafe. It is doing awesome but problem is there just isn't enough space anymore. So she calls the best builder the south has.
Hmm... can things really work out for a bookworm and a builder or should things just be left in the past? I wonder what is Mason going to do with the roll of duct tape?  Great book pick up and get the answer.
Another great novella by Mary Manners.
