Winter Wonderland By: Diane Dean White

In 1951 WWII has ended and the economy is booming around the country. Jeb and Cora Willis are excited about a new start. Like many families, they decide to move to the city of Detroit for a factory job that will bring prosperity and a better life.

While most young women are looking for husbands, Ruth tries to further her career and concentrates on obtaining a job with her business skills at Detroit’s J. L. Hudson Department Store. She feels good about her new office position and then meets Clint…who changes everything.

Was he part of the reason for their move? During a health problem will their faith hold them together or threaten a loving relationship? Celebrate the Christmas holiday and follow Ruth in this romantic story, during Detroit’s heyday, in Winter Wonderland.

My Review

Winter Wonderland
By:  Diane Dean White

What a enjoyable story.  This is the first book I have read by Diana and I loved it. A wonderful Christmas romance. The story is a step back in time of 1951. As I was reading this story I kept feeling like I was in another time.  The way Clint and Ruth treated one another was with respect. I loved the Christian view on their relationship that Clint and Ruth had. This story is one with family values and  their faith in the Lord. I loved the Characters but I would say that Ruth and Clint are my favorites. I hope to see them again in the future. I love the verse that was quoted at the beginning of the book. One of my favorites.

“Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”  Psalm: 37: 4-5     King James Version

I believe this verse was perfect for this story. Also a wonderful Holiday treat at the end of the book is a special recipe.

I was given this book by the author for my own honest opinion.
