Eric A. Disney is a Recovery and Personal Growth pastor at a local church in Norco, California, where he has served for two decades. He is a counseling psychology graduate from California Baptist University in Riverside, California. His ministry covers a wide variety of healing issues including addiction recovery, postabortion healing, sexual healing, and many others, and he offers a broad range of marriage, family, and relationship counseling classes and seminars. Eric conducts premarital counseling and has developed marriage classes for couples experiencing severe marital difficulties as well as those looking for marriage enrichment, both with a great deal of success. His passion for seeing people healed and marriages flourish has led to the development and implementation of several classes offered to the community. Eric has been an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors since 1999. He is happily married to his wonderful wife, Jennifer, an author and teacher who is also very active in recovery ministry. Together they are the proud parents of two boys.
Aside from his family and his relationship with God, his passion is seeing people made whole. His passion for healing marriages stretches beyond the immediate family, it affects generations to come!

Marriage by Design

What is marriage? Marriage is a gift from God. God didn't want us to be alone so he made woman for man. Very important to fulfill a healthy need in the relationship.  Marriage was also meant to be permanent commitment to one another before God. When one suffers in a relationship so does the other. Husband is to be the head of the wife as God is to the church. I do agree with a lot of this chapter.  Getting into submission I have been in church breakups over this topic. In our home God is our head and husband has final say but we always talk together on things.  I have seen women treated awful  when it comes to this some pastor wives. They have got it all wrong. I don't walk behind I walk beside my husband.  we have had a wonderful marriage for almost 37 years so I would say we are doing something right. God is our head! Marriage is laying a foundation for hope, faith and trust.

I love all the scripture to back everything up. The exercises to do at the end and a page for notes. This is just one of the many subjects Eric Disney goes over.  Did a great job researching. I would say greatest resource probably was the Bible. Other topics are 1. Expectations 2. Selfishness 3. Feelings and Behavior 4. Forgiveness 5. Building Foundation of Intimacy 6. Differences Between Us 7.Communication 8. Communication and Conflict 9.Forgiveness Revisited 10. Money and Marriage 11. Sex and Respect 12. Children 13. All about me 14. Issues of Past 15. Be Encouraged.  Lots of help to help any married couples.  I have been married 37 years and what we do works for us and Christ is our head of our home. Lot of what the author says is already a factor in my marriage.  I do believe any couple using this guide it will help as long as you have the first part of the program and that is Christ.
