When new lumberjack, Tom Jeffries, tells the camp cook, Jo Christy, that he’ll marry her if she can make a fruitcake, “as good as the one my mother makes,” she rises to the occasion. After all, he’s the handsomest, smartest, and strongest axman her camp-boss father has ever had in his camp—and the cockiest. And she intends to bring this lumberjack down a notch or three by refusing his proposal. The fruitcake wars are on!

My Review:
The Fruitcake Challenge (Christmas Traditions Book 3)
By: Carrie Fancett Pagels
Another great story by Carrie. I loved the sweet
romance. Tom Jeffries new lumberjack
falls in love with Jo Christy who is the head cook after her mother died. On one condition will he marry her. She will have to make the best fruitcake like
his mother makes. Other lumberjacks take the challenge with other ladies at the
camp. Will Jo succeed in winning his heart with the best fruitcake? You will
enjoy all the ladies go through to win these tuff guys hearts. I loved the
characters well written. Who knows maybe we will see them again someday. If you
like a good clean romance story you will enjoy.
This is book 3 in the Christmas Traditions series.
Carrie will be giving away a e- book copy of The Fruitcake Challenge. Please enter below.

ReplyDeleteWhat an original idea for a story! Congratulations, Carrie.
ReplyDeleteTY, Cynthia! The characters really came to me and how they'd relate to one another and God really helped me come up with something unusual, and I'm glad for that!

Great review Diane !!! It was a wonderful story, I loved it !!! Carrie has a way of writing and the mind's eye sees it.. you can see the kitchen and watch the banter between Jo and Tom !!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Chicki
That is exactly what I want my reader to feel, Chicki! I write my scenes "in character" meaning that like an actor does, I actually try to be the character and look at everything the way they do. I've even been known to drink whatever tea or whatnot that my character enjoys, etc., while I write.
DeleteEnjoy Carrie's writings. Would love to read this!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Sonja, and thank you!
DeleteTHIS SOUNDS SO GOOD!!! :D Thank you for the chance to win it! And I was gonna copy Niki also! :) I LOVE your header picture! The two girls faces are hilariously fantastic! I REALLY want to know what she's telling them to cause such a reaction! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Amada

Jo didn't think Tom's challenge was so funny, Deanna, but she did rise to the occasion! Blessings!

ReplyDeleteVicki
LOL, Vicki! Congrats on being Diana's winner for this review! Being the world traveler you are, it may be a very rustic setting in the lumber camp in the back woods of Michigan, but I hope you will enjoy it!
DeleteGreat review on your book Carrie. Of course I agree, I loved the book!
